Ramadan changes daily routines significantly, and Quran classes can easily slip during the shuffle. A few adjustments help keep them consistent through the month.
Reassess Timing Early
Rather than trying to keep the exact same class schedule, decide upfront whether a different time slot — perhaps after Suhoor or earlier in the day before energy dips — works better for Ramadan specifically.
Talk to Your Teacher About the Adjustment
Most teachers are flexible about rescheduling for Ramadan and can work with you to find a sustainable time rather than cancelling classes for the whole month.
Lower the Bar Slightly, Don’t Eliminate It
A shorter or lighter session during a particularly tiring week is far better than skipping entirely — consistency matters more than session length during this period.
Use Classes to Reinforce Ramadan Goals
If your child has a Ramadan memorization or recitation goal, coordinating it with their regular class keeps both efforts working together rather than competing for attention.
Watch for Burnout
Fasting, Taraweeh, and disrupted sleep add up. If a child seems consistently exhausted, it’s worth temporarily reducing class frequency rather than pushing through and risking a negative association with learning.
Plan to Return to Normal After Eid
Whatever adjustments are made for Ramadan, having a plan to return to the regular schedule afterward keeps the disruption temporary rather than permanent.
